How do you pull the AT dipstick out?

On my '03, you pulled a clip out a little bit, them pulled up. With this
new '04, I cannot figure this out. I have been pulling, twisting, cursing,
and it will not come out. Help.

I have not gotten mine yet but I would suggest that you look it up in the owners manual. If that doesn/t do it; call the service department and ask. SemperFi

You have to take it to the dealer to let them work on it. The new tranny's use a different fluid that could easily get mixed up by the millions of owners that don't look at their manuals. Putting in the wrong fluid will lock up the tranny and could cause more than the cost of a transmition, it could cause a life. the dealers have the correct tool to get the dipstick out and service your tansmission should it need to be serviced.

You can't be serious. I will check my owners manual.

Tampa is correct that the '04 5 sp auto tranny uses a new and very special fluid; not one carried by the auto parts stores.

As this is a total change from the past half-century of auto trannys, the dealers should be making this very clear to purchasers.

The SL 4 speed auto and the SE 6 speed manual use regular fluids.

Figured it out. You have to take a small screwdriver or some such thing and push in on a clip. Then pull up the dip stick. There is a label on
the inside of the hood warning of the "special" fluid. If you can read
english, you can figure it out. Use the Nissan fluid only.

You know for sure that some tard will completely ignore the sticker and the saftey feature on the cap and will try to blame his transmission failure on Nissan or the dealership.

Honda did the same thing in the early 80's. Pretty soon there will be aftermarket suppliers of that fluid.
