Can I remove these or will water leak???

Hi all,

The molding on the bottom of the door panels, can this be removed without causing harm to the car. It looks like this molding was designed after the car was made, it does not look like this was Nissans intentions when the car was initially designed. Anyways, has anybody removed these? I took one off, sprayed with water and didnt notice anything? its just glued on with one with a few screws. I want to know if I can remove them all for good, Thanks

Chris - Not sure which molding you are talking about, but it doesn't really matter, as Nissan is not going to the trouble and expense to put anything on a vehicle unless there is a reason.

The molding is there to keep water away and/or to reduce the outside sound entering the car. Those are the two normal uses for door molding.

This is a horizontal piece of plastic, painted the cars color, and slips on the bottom of the doors held by glue and a screw and come caps. I just think the car would look nicer without it. just my thought.

Has anybody removed these? any problems?
