I've had a knocking noise from day one. Of course Nissan can't figure out the problem. It sounds almost like a valve tapping or a really loud fuel injector pulse. I only happens at about 1800 RPM. This is very annoying and I hate it but without anyone able to verify the problem, I can't fix it.

sorry, for the confusion guys, but the problem i was having which was the reason for the thread was because its coming from the wheel well and it sounds like my wheel is loose, but its prob a control arm, i AM however also experiencing the noise around 1800RPM, i have an appointment iwht nissan monday the 5th so i will keep everyone updated, also going to get broken shift **** fixed and hopefully prints behind navi screen
I had a knocking noise in the front of my Altima on both sides a month apart and Nissan ended up changing my right lower control arm and bushing and also my left bushing. BTW the bolt on my right lower control arm broke off and this was at 1400 miles. . . That could be your problem. .
I posted about this problem a while back. My '04 emits a knocking sound from the front right suspension when going over bumps, especially uneven bumps.
I could find nothing loose underneath. I'm taking it in on the 22nd. I'll let you know what happens.

I too seem to have a kocking noise from the right front on my max. I thought I was being overly paraniod because my 02 Altima had a similiar problem in the back... which Nissan fixed. I think there was even a service bulletin released for the Altima. Otherwise, I love my max.
