performance input

Still doing a little homework..as far as upgrades go...plan on an intake and cat-back exhaust. I'm concerned about makiing the car sound like a "bucket"..with a muffler on it. I'm coming from a 5.7 chevy W/Flowmaster. I understand this is apples and oranges, but i would like to stay away from that annoying earpiercing scratch that comes in this arena of cars. My philosophy is i would like to hear the engine through the exhaust, not the exhaust. The sound should be a bi-product of the engine firing not just fumes pushed through a metal can with a pipe. Am i being unrealistic your thoughts please...and also is this acheivable
.............thanks

I Agree

I can't stand the sound of reeds vibrating. Those exhausts sound awful. I want the throaty sound more like the Titan and Armada have. And I would want it to look stock.

HKS has a more subdued tone to it... Greddy has a more throaty sound... I imagine it would be difficult to hear what a specific exhaust sounds like on the '04 without actually installing it...

I replaced my stock mufflers for Magniflos. Sounds alot like the Z. I 'm kinda scared to take that long (_!_) resonator off tho.. Probably gonna replace it with a magnaflo resonator. Looking under the car there are 3 catalytic converters under there.. Kinda makes you think that if they EVER make headers for our cars , It'll make a big difference..

I want magnaflow. But I wanto put headers and/or y on, which leaves me to leave everything stock, and start taking things of in stages.

I love the look of the dual maganflows, don't care for the big fat single from Greddy.

I have the Greddy SPII Catback Exhaust for my 04 with the Stillen Hi - Flow intake and LOVE it. Get TONS of compliments on it daily and it has a really, really nice throaty sound. Not ricer in any way shape or form. It is a dual catback exhaust BTW.

What model/type of Magnaflo did you use? Did you put on two with twin tips so it would look stock? Did you bolt them on or weld them on?

Curious people want to know. Thanx!
