Apexi filters... when to change and where to buy?

For anyone who got the Frankencar intake from the Group Deal last fall, or might know anyways, at what point do I need to replace the filter, clean it, etc? Also, are the Apexi filters pretty universal as far as buying just the filter itself when I do need to replace it? I wouldn't think I have to worry about getting a certain kind of apexi filter. Or would you suggest getting another brand of cone filter instead of the Apexi? It just needs to fit on the Frankencar intake, which I also assume is a universal mount for most cone filters. Your suggestions are appreciated!

you do not need to replace the cone filter. all you need is k&n filter cleaner (sold at most auto stores)
i clean mine every 3 thousand miles because im a neat freak.

cool, thanks for the tip. Will you EVER need to replace it, say years down the road when the stuff you can't always get out by cleaning it builds up?

Apexi filters are a lot better airflow/filtration wise, but the are non reuseable. You can get them for pretty cheap if you PM cobymoby.
