Can Maxima be programmed?

My friend has Audi A4. Yesterday, he just hooked up a computer to a slot in his driver side and downloaded some programs to his car chip and that is it. Now he can do things like moving the windows up/down from keyfob , open all doors with a single click and many more. It was cool.

Can we do the same with our 04 Max?

Windows down with the fob is standard. Someone here is making a device to add windows up to the fob, but it involves some modification.

With the software, we dont need any Hard modifications. for Audi (rather Europian cars like Audi, Skoda, VW) it is call Vag-Com. I was wondering if Max has anything like that.

Well, I'm sure you know this, but we can program a lot of things like you mentioned ... via the "Settings" button on the center display stack. You can, for instance, program whether only the driver's door - or all four doors - unlock with a single press of the remote, and whether the driver's seat moves back when you open the door to exit the car, and whether the doors automatically lock when you start moving, etc., etc., etc.

You don't need a computer to program the Max ...

What's a FOB? And how do you make the windows go down with the FOB as a standard option?

I believe, you just hold the unlock button on the remote and the driver side door window goes down. I would like to know how you can put them up and close the sunroof from the remove. This is great for unexpected summer rain storms.

That's assuming that your seat isn't back all the way in the first place.
Go through your settings options on the display and select that option.

How do you change that? I've never seen this setting, and I would like to turn it on.

Holding the lock button causes the windows to go up. I know cause I just did this the other day. Not sure about the sunroof.... gonna have to try that.

I was following all this until I saw where testure closed all his windows by holding down the 'lock' button on the keyfob.

That may be a problem with the keyfob. Last I heard, the manufacturers were not allowed to permit closing of car windows remotely because of the safety issue (like baby with head out the window looking at a dog, but on far side of car from guy closing windows. etc).

Have the laws been changed recently?

On one of my forth gens I had an aftermarket alarm/starter added on. Besides having two remotes (FOB) I was able to role the windows down with the stock fob and roll them up with the aftermarket fob

I was also talking to this dude with a g35 coupe and he's got the same exact fob as our 6th gens and his car came with remote start
What's up with that?

I went through the "Settings" menu on mine tonight to check. I couldn't find this option anywhere.

I checked my Owner's Manual and it doesn't mention it there either.

I know the mercedes c230 hatchback plastic key can roll the windows up remotely via IF...so it must be legal in the US...
