GReddy Exhaust

Long time listener, first time caller (or something similar).

I'm looking for a sound clip, or video, of the 6th gen with the GReddy SP2 exhaust. I'd really like to know what it sounds like before dropping $700 on one. Not sure I like the mufflers being so visible but there isn't too much out there right now. Anyone who's seen the belly of this beast KNOWS how much restriction was generously included on the stock system which is why it has got to go!

I have the Greddy's.

I LOVE them. Don't have a sound clip for you but the sound is awesome. Not ricey at all - sounds very deep. Very quiet until you hit 4K rpms, then it opens up like a true sports sedan should. Sounds very much like my friend's new M3. I was a little hesitant on the visibility of the mufflers but I have gotten nothing but compliments on them. People really seem to like the look. Makes the back look much more agressive than the stock version - definitely sportier. If you are worried about it too much you can purchase the Stillen Rear Valance which covers them up quite a bit.

Anyway - I am STOKED with mine and combined with my Stillen Hi-Flow intake I feel alot more pull. Good investment IMO. Good luck.

Your Max looks great! The more I look at the exhaust on yours, the more I like it. I'll most likely end up getting that one.

BTW, what brand of grille do you have? It looks similar to one of the Trenz grilles, but the angle of the photos make it hard to tell. It looks very clean.

Thanks for the advice and excellent job with your Max, clean and beautiful!

Thanks brother. I think you will be very happy with the Greddy's if you get them. I swear I get a ton of compliments on them every week. And when you really push your car - they know it mean bizness. LOL Anyway thanks for the props on the grill. I actually got mine from a link on this sites front page. It's not a trenz grille - doesn't have that line seperating the middle. I think one other guy on here has it KCMaxx or something. Get tons of compliments on it too. Looks very clean. Best of luck to brother. If you decide to get the Greddy's let me know cause I priced around and got them cheapest from www.hopupracing.com. Late!

i'm gutting the piping from the headers/down pipe all the way to the mufflers.
i rolled around today without the mufflers on because me and my buddy were thinking about flowmasters and needed measurements, but decided then that i want to keep the stock look for the "sleeper" effect.

2.5" inch piping and NO CRIMPS! like you said GrayArea51, that piping has GOT TO GO!!!

Thanks for the link. The only other place that comes close to that price is southwestautoworks.com (that I've found). I guess it would come down to who would ship it within a reasonable amount of time, and for how much. hopupracing.com says they would ship in 5-7 business days, so that would put it out about 2 weeks for me. Was that your experience with them? I know you're closer to them than I am, but 5-7 days until it ships?

Do you have a link to the site you bought your grille from? Yours looks much better than the Trenz grille. I never liked the line down the center myself.

Thanks again!

Hopupracing was great to work with. I spoke with a Steve and he hooked me up. I actually got the Greddy's for $615 not including tax & shipping. Total cost was just over 7 bills. Good followup on their part and speedy service.

As for the grille I was trying to find the link on the fron page but it looks like all links are dead. I will try and find my receipt and get you the contact info. Talk with ya soon!

Yeah - that one looks alot like mine but it's not it. Almost exactly like it but mine doesn't have any vertical bars like the ones in the southwest and stillen ads. All of mine are horizontal bars. Very close though resemblance though. Tried finding their webpage for over an hour - still no luck, will keep trying for you bradda!

Actually I did dyno it last weekend on a dynojet at AutoTech Motorsports LLC - also did an A/F test. I have to adjust that on cardomain. You reminded me to update it. Definitely didn't come out that high but I didn't dyno it pre - mods so i have no way of knowing how high it bumped it with the exhaust. Still waiting for someone to dyno their stock one so I can kind of judge how much it might have boosted it if any. Guys at Autotech said it probably gave it around 5-8 with both the exhaust and intake but its tough to make a true determination with out doing a dyno before mods. Really wish I would have dynoed mine stock before I had added the mods. I have adjusted my numbers to be more realistic on the cardomain site. Last weeks dyno was a really good educational experience for me.
