Max or WRX?

I was in the same situation. The wrx is a fast car, comes boosted already,so minor modications well have drastic improvements. On the other hand, the max is a pimp ride and a sleeper. I wanted more of a classy car so I went with the max. But there is also about a 10 grand difference between the two.
Actually, I was contemplating these choices as well. The STI is a fast car, but I stuck with the Maxima instead. The performance on the STI was tempting but I'm 29 now and decided to get something a bit more "grown up".

Apples or Oranges?
Gun or Knife?
Wife or Girlfriend?
Large family sedan or compact rally car?
Tough call.
the opinions here are going to be biased in favor or the maxima. the maxima is better overall; it's a fast, refined car. it offers power and a higher level of comfort. go test drive both cars and then make a decision based on which car will suit you better.
Wow! Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum! About the only things these two have in common are performance and reliability.
The WRX is the best at what it does, which is grovel its way thru ruts and gullies with a snarl from its engine. Lots of power. Truly a macho 'pocket rocket'.
The Maxima is best for highway travel, vacation trips, carrying passengers and luggage, impressing the opposite sex, protecting its passengers, etc. Also lots of power.
The Maxima is far quieter, far roomier, far more presentable at formal social functions, etc. But these advantages can't be very important to anyone who would even consider the WRX.
My opinion: The WRX should be a tempting morsel to young folks with limited money who like to travel on the wild side, to most anti-traditionalists, and to middle-age and older folks going through a midlife crisis.
Most others would probably be happier in the long run with the Maxima.

I'm a self-proclaimed Max hater, but I'd take the Max over the WRX; then again; I'd take the STi over the Max.

I choose the max over the STI, after driving both, I couldn't see myself driving the sti, let alone fitting in it( I am 6'5"), the STI is sweet though, quick as hell, and pulls through the corners, but it is basically a rally car, and as such, it rides super stiff, and comes with nothing more than a sweet motor and some race seats. so if you are looking for a street legal rally car, go for the sti, or if you want some luxury and pretty damn good performance for the price and class of car, choose the max.

You should be decided for well over a week before you ahead with such large investment.:
I have driven the regular wrx, not the sti, the maxima just seems so much more sophisticated. Plus the sti is a bit out of my range, i was thinking about the wrx. Would the price difference(5-7 K) justify going with the wrx.

well to me anyway both cars speed wise in the 1/4 well driven will do low 14s stock.. from a roll the maxima should walk a wrx... if u want all out fun in all weather yeah get the wrx.. if want speed and comfort get the maxima. both are very good cars but two totally different cars though. someone else said this already but u should compare the ser specv vs the wrx... the spec v is a good car as well.. not as fast as the wrx but its not slow by anymeans.. good driver will get low 15s out of a spec v stock.. ive seen very rare though 14.9s stock for a spec v..
two different cultures.
two different worlds.
maxima seems more practical, though. wrx is a fun toy, extremely fast car. will outrun cops easily. the STi is basically a motorcycle in the guise of a car. it is in the class of a porsche 911 insofar as handling and performance. but interior is skimpy. although enthusiasts don't care.
maxima is powerful and comfortable overall. and you can mod it nice. saw it at the LA auto show modded, dropped. looked bad a$$. has a strong presence.

Suburu is FUGLY in my opinion. Fast as chit but hell if that thing doesn't look like a go-kart on roids.
Max is fast, roomy and can be pimped. Future mods could really boost ya up there performance wise and most of all - its a chick getter.

It's built with a purpose: hood scoop for intercooler, big-a$$ wing for downforce.
It's a rally car, it doesn't have to look pretty.

Almost like comparing a Neon R/T to a Corvette...come on, which one would you REALLY be drooling over?
Maxpol, I love it. Afriend of mine has a Short Shifter on his Ride and it is great. Problem is they don`t make one for the 6 speed Max YET. I keep sending email to B&M. lol I heard from Greg V when he was with Mossy and he said they were working on one however that was months ago.
I think if enough guys started asking for one they would soon make them.
