How to Remove Manual Shift ****

Ok, this is probably a real dumb question. How do I remove the manual shift ****?

Duh, unscrew it.

"Lefty loosey, righty tighty" is the phrase to think of if you need help remembering which way to turn it.

Just wanted to make sure. Wasn't sure if there were any clips or anything.

Some of these mothers are glued on, so try with one of those belt type grips so as not to mark or damage the leather and if that doesn`t work have the dealer do it.

I remember reading somewhere that there is a small button or pawl that has to be depressed allowing the **** to pull off vertically. I tried to find the reference, but could not locate it.

That is the procedure to remove the headrests but the ***** are threaded to screw on the shaft.

There is on the **** with the 5sp Auto, but not on the 6sp Manual - check with the dealer to make sure that you don't strip it trying to get it off...good luck.
