I keep seeing TSB and after about 3 days of being on this board I figure I'll be the dummy and ask what it stands for? I also seen someone use the abbreviation AE? Are there any others I should know about?

 

I'm pretty sure that it stands for Technical Service Bulletin.

Okay, so are TSB's something that I can go to a Nissan Dealer and be like hey fix this here's the documentation? Is it the same as a recall? Are there recalls on the 04 Maxima?

No, it isn't a recall. My experience has been that the dealer is very willing to perform the TSB procedures if you have the problem.
For example, I don't have a rear deck rattle so I'm not going to ask for the Rear Deck Rattle TSB.

There is potential down side too... I took my AE in for the fuel cutoff TSB. The TSB absolutely fixed the low speed fuel cut off problem but the car never ran as well after the TSB as it did before the TSB. I even nagged the dealer into advancing the timing for nothing. That perked it up but...
