my cd player skips when it's cold outside...well...should i say "not warm enough"... cuz it skips even when it's like 55 degrees outside.
I'm just gonna wait till next winter cuz It's like 80 degrees right now and it
seems to work fine now (still skips once a day tho)

the problem is...is cd player covered under 3 yr/36000 miles warranty??
i heard electronics usually covered only one year...not sure tho...
anyone knows about this?

The warrenty is 3 years/36000 miles bumper to bumper, electronics included. Don't understand where people are coming up with this idea that electronics isn't covered (competitor trolls maybe?). Can anybody site in the Nissan literature where this isn't so?

BTW, Bose doen't make the CD player, its provided by either Clarion or Panasonic.

We've encountered a similar problem. After almost a year of working fine, the CD player started skipping, then would not play at all. The message "Check disc" appeared on the screen, which helps not at all. Using different CDs it still wouldn't play, and there is no reference for that message in the owners manual. We're taking it to the dealer next week, so I'll post the results. By the way, had a 2000 Maxima with a single play CD, and NEVER had any problems.

I too had a 2000, but cannot say the same about no trouble. I had plenty of skipping problems but all the problems were around CD-R's that I had burned. They were notorius for skipping in any weather. At first I thought it was my fault for putting the labels on the disks, so then I only wrote on them with markers. That did nothing for the problem.

When reading the manual for the 04, it did red flagged CD-R's and CD-RW's as things to avoid. Are you guys having your problems with these disks?

We're having problems with both the CD-Rs and commercial CDs -- and this is only on the 2004. We had no problems with the 2000, playing either kind of CDs. Go figure!
