auto 5speed trans
#2
licnyc - Since no SE drivers have stepped forward, I will say I have seen complaints about harsh shifting when the SE tranny is cold several times here over the past six to eight months. I don't recall seeing anyone come up with a true solution. Since the problem goes away as soon as the tranny is warm (only takes a minute or two), most folks seem resigned to living with it.
Now that the same 5 speed is standard on the SL (as of Feb 5), I would expect some SL drivers to begin having the same problem.
I do find it curious that some folks have this problem, but most drivers with the same tranny don't. I don't know if this is a 'warm climate vs cool climate' thing, or whether trannys that are supposedly exactly alike are actually varying in their behavior.
