I've always used Meguiars or Mothers products, and I think they're both excellent. However, recently I went on www.detailersparadise.com, and ordered P21S Concours-Look Carnauba Wax. All I can say is "wow". Not only was this was easy to put on and rub off, but the shine it left was amazing. It's more expensive, but if you want the best, give it a try.
Just did mine yesterday.
Check out www.5starshine.com expensive, but for a 5 year "wax" I say it's worth it (5 year money back guarantee). Patened and endorsed by US Nazy. Been raining all yesterday and today... beading and running right off of my Max.
Had just enough to run out before I did my windows. To maintain I just have to rinse off weekly and wash once a year or when really needed.
Tells why car waxes just don't last or work, and to beware of silicone based products. Just read the info and make your own opinion.
Has been $10 off recently (the slae date changes everyday) and get another $10 promo code of (10off). I also ordered their car wash and hose nozzle seperately for another 10off.

I'd never trust a wax that says it lasts 5 years. If its so good, or so much better than everything else out on the market why wouldn't everyone be using it?
Even the "once a year" Nu Finish lasts only a few months at best.

I figure it's worth a try and if it doesn't last I'll get my money back. So far it's shedding rain off like Gortex. Wiped bird crap off this morning with a hardly damp paper towel. Shine better than when I bought it.
The science makes sense to me: +/- bond.

I use a combanition of products, but mostly the following:
Meguiars Show Car Glaze #7
Meguiars NXT
Meguiars #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Paste Wax
Mother's Pure Carnauba Paste Wax
I like trying different combinations but these have been the main ones that i use.
Makes my silver look pretty good:

The true test of that wax will be in 6 months. I've seen all kinds of claims. The fact is, wax evaporates. So either that so thick it's not adding to the shine, or it's not going to be there in 6 months.
It's funny if you look up that patent number it states about the same thing any other wax would state.
Really they are claiming that they are going to non stick your paint... yes non stick like a frying pan non stick. It's a good concept but I don't see it really protecting the paint like a wax does.
I use real professional detail products, (Production Car Care) you'd be suprised by the difference. Even your high end meguires or mothers pales in compairision, especially when compairing the amount of work per result.

Thanks, Bob! I was afraid I was getting too carried away with the "labour of love", because I try to wax her/clean the wheels/etc. 2-3 times a week. My neighbours keep asking "what's wrong with you, girl?"
I've just waxed my SE for the first time but I use what I alway do: 1 coat of Klasse All In One (AIO) and then follow it with a coat of P21S Carnuba. I apply the carnuba by hand but the AIO I use the PC.
Works good and leaves a real wet look to it. Twice a year seems to work out fine. Also use the quick detail spray on every other wash.
You can find some really good info at http:\\www.autopia.org.

But I need to do it all the time because mine is dark and in 2 days it's covered with dust and that annoys me to no end. Well, your Max looks absolutely gorgeous and I love the shine it has! I bought the Meguiars Quik Wax just because I thought it would be easier to apply, but next time I'll try the NXT.
I wax mine, hmm about every month or maybe 6 weeks or so in the summer. One last time (multiple coats) in the fall before it gets too cold and thats it for the winter.
Lately I've taken to using a leaf blower to get the water out of the trim around the sky view roof, the door handles, mirrors, and especially off the tires and rims. It's a bit of work, but the car ends up quite dry! And yes the neighbours think I'm nuts. But my car is the best looking one on the block without question. They often drop by asking for detailing advice.

Why, what's wrong with New Liskeard?
Sorry, but I can't really relate... I laughed at the whole preparation for the winter, imagine that as an excuse not to wax my car here in Florida
And really, the scene here gets so opulent that if you go to South Beach in a Max, it's no big deal. You have to drive a Viper or a 645 or have 24"s to turn heads. Tons of snobs around here.

To me most other waxes are similar with some having a bit more durability than others. Some having a bit more luster. Some being a bit easier to rub off. But all generally in the same ballpark. The Wax Shop is good stuff. But dang it, Formula 113 is way way way out in front in luster. All my car buff buddies are amazed by it too. No lie, try that stuff it's amazing. I guarantee you that with other waxes, you'll get comments like "Hey clean car." With formula 113, even if you never mentioned you waxed the car, loads will ask, "What the hell did you put on that finish?"

Mach58 - I agree! This is the best combination that I have found.
Just did my first application of the Zaino Products. My father has been using them on his Miata for several years and it has done wonders for that paint. So i tried it, and it look amazing. The first application sucks but man it is worth it. Love the deep shine. I will working with Zaino's stuff for a long time to come. Try it, you might like it.
