how do you pull out the info display section?

The dealer wants to clean my info display rather than replace, i would like to do this myself. does anybody know how to remove the section of the dash that has the 2 vents and the display cover? thanks

Take off the shift ****. Pop off the trim around the shifter area. Undo two screws on the bottom of the vertical panel. Pull it out and off. Undo the two screws on the bottom of the audio/radio panel. Pull it straight out.

More or less what you have to do....I take no responsibility if you break something. I would recomend having the dealer replace the screen entirely.

CM.

Undoing the shift ****, does it unscrew, or how do you get it off? And the trim around the shifter, is that the whole wood piece AND the silver round piece together, or do they come off separately?

they wont replace the plastic, they will only clean. seems like a lot of removal for the plastic piece. does the upper console area just pop in? im thinking it should just pop out rather than taking all the other stuff out too.

Nah, its all layered. You have to take one piece out to get to the screws of the other.

Shift **** Removal

The Shift **** is two parts. The leather part where your had grabs and the part just under it. You can either push down on the slick park and it will slide down the shaft or give it a turn while you push down on it. Then there is an omega style keeper pin that holds the leather part on the shaft. Just pull it off and the **** will slide off the shaft. Then take a flat screwdriver and between the front cupholder and the shifter area and lift up. It will unsnap then unplug the two wire connectors from underside and that's it.
