Stillen RSB ?

Those that have installed the Stillen RSB. What is envolved in installing it? Easy? Hard? Special tools?

Also, how much does it help? Worth the time, effort and money?

Have it - Love it - Worth it.

Helps cut body roll alot...

Install was done by my techs at Nissan so I can't help you there. One of the other guys from the forum did it on his own and said it was a simple install.

it took me about 45 min to install it.
i used two ramps(to lift the car), wrench, extension pipe(i didn't have enough
muscle to loosen the nuts), 14mm deep socket(i think it was 14mm), socket
extensioner. what else...i think that was it. oh..it's good to have torque wrench
if available...i just estimated when i tighten the nuts.

all you have to do is...
remove 6 nuts, remove one rear wheel, remove factory sway bar,
install stillen sway bar, tighten the 6 nuts, put back the wheel.

and...

test drive it...the best part...

i think it's worth the money, time and effort. no special tool's required.
it reduced lot of body roll in curves.
for example, there's this curve i used to hit at 45 mph max. now i can
pass it at around 52 mph and i think i can go little faster.

So we can hit a 90mph curve at 100+ ? Cool!

I'm getting mine installed on Wednesday. I'd love to do the work myself, but I have no jack stands or ramps to raise the car. Oh wells.

Sounds like a plan...

I assume the best place to buy is stillen.com for $159?

I've got a mechanic-friend with ramps.

How different is the Stillen bar from the factory one?

Sounds like a no-brainer, but I do wonder...

Does the car really handle better or does it just feel like it does? Will heavy body roll affect handling and cause the car to cut loose / lose control, or does it just scare the cr@p out of the driver?

I checked RSB. Yes shipping is free, but product is $30 more than from Stillen ($189 vs $159). I will check thier shipping rates to NY when they open.

Thanks

Shift NY - It definitely think it handles better IMO. I am hitting turns much faster now. The same turns pre RSB scared the crap outta me. To be honest I was kind of unhappy with the Max's cornering abilities before I got the RSB. Now that I have the RSB and the Yokohamas it feels like a true sports sedan. I think for the price it's a good investment. Best of luck to you.

I checked with Stillen. Shipping to my zip (about 1 hour from NYC) is $40, so it seems Southwest Auto Works gets my order.

Thanks all for the feedback and some riding of the rails to look forward to!

they look exactly same, but different materials.
stillen one is heavier than the stock one.

oh...and color difference
stock one's black and stillen's gray...

and for the shipping charge. it said the weight of the package was 30 lbs.
they chaged me $28 to VA. when i got the package, it was like 20 +/- lbs.
i don't know why they overweight the package and pay more to UPS.

Shipping is often calculated by zones. I am northwest of the city. I believe you are southwest - and further west than I am - which puts you just a bit closer to southern cal and possibly in a lower cost zone???

Anyway, I'm happy to say I've placed my order with SouthWest Auto Works - $189, free shipping. Looking forward to hittin em hard!

I don't know if it's just because I'm in Cali where Stillen is, but I'm getting mine from the dealer at the same price as Stillen. I wonder if any of you guys in the east have dealerships that have connections with Stillen so you could buy it through the dealer. It seems that Stillen is really careful on price control (at least in Cali). You can't buy it for less than $159.00, not even from them. At least as far as I know.

Probably protecting the interests of their reseller network. Start undercuting them, they get P.O.'d and stop carrying the product line. All part of the biz

Just wait for the Progress RSB. It'll be a lot cheaper.

Just got the RSB installed and the corners do feel better, though I haven't had the chance to really push it. Next step, Stillen exhaust (if they decide to release it any time soon).
