SE 2004 manual transmission replaced under warranty

Has anyone ever got his 6 sp manual transmission replaced under warranty for the 2nd and 3rd gear grinding problem?

Yes I am on my SE 2004. I will like to find out if anyone had the dealer agreed to put in a new transmission and if that eliminated the grinding problem?

Initially I had a slight grinding until about 6k miles and only occasionally up to 10k miles. Now I have about 12k miles and it almost never happens. The dealer says it is normal but it still bothers me. They noted it and if the problem returns or the tranny gives me problems after warranty, they claim I am covered but I wonder to what extent? I think part of the problem may be the long throw?

I hope B&M or someone come out with a Short Shifter SOON>

I would like to get confirmation for a case or two that someone actually had its 6 sp manual tranny replaced under warranty for the grinding 2nd and 3rd gears. Can anyone help me in confirming this?

I remember a lot of people posting about how changing the fluid out (replacing with synthetic) solved these grinding problems. Anyone confirm this?

I had grinding in 2nd and 3rd some times in 4th and 5th gears. When I took it to the shop they thought it mite be the shifter so they ordered one in it took 3 months to get it. They installed it today and it has made a big difference in the way it shifts now hardly grinds at all now.

^That doesn't sound like a transmission issue. I would think it's the master/slave cylinder.
