1 year anniversary...

Well it just occured to me that its july and that i've now had the maxima for exactly one year. What a fast year it was, already but just shy of 30k miles on the car. Just wanted to share some of my impressions i've experienced since i bought the car. I love it, can't complain about much, except some options i didnt get. Tho the fog lights tend to blow out too much, i've gone thru 4 already and currently one is out.

The bose system is pretty good and i think i got used to as the year progressed, but of course now that people are upgrading im sure i'll follow that path as well. I enjoy the fact that there are plenty of things to modify unfortunetly i dont have the money, as opposed to how it was with my intrepid, there wasnt anything to do but i had money.

Performance wise, i'm satisfied. Gets me where i need to go, espeically in a hurry. Tho i still can't stand the wide turning radius, but once again its something you get used to and doesn't turn into such a big deal unless your in a really tight place.

I'm sure there are more, but my brain is kinda turned off since i just got out of a final exam, so yeah thats all.

One Year

I also hit 1 year on July 4th. Thoughts on the the car thus far. I am totally happy with it and would buy it again today.

Issues
Plastic coating peeling on grill(will replace with Trenz Grill)
Seat belt light stays lit always
Wind noise around sunroof
No other issues

Use
21,000 miles
Regular oil changes at 3500mi
1 speeding ticket
Top speed 135 (not on public road)

Favorite Option
5-speed auto
auto tilt and seat position upon start up
GPS

Things I would change
Get rid of the cloth on the doors and in front of the dash-replace with leather
More comfortable seats (neck support)
Oil pressure gauge
Better bass from sub
Add 20 more hp (car is heavy)
Make the screen lense easier to remove for cleaning

All in all I am very happy with the car, it did better in the snow this winter than I thought it would. I drive it 80 miles a day to work and is great in traffic. I considered a Acura TL and a Volvo S60 when I bought this, so far nothing has swayed me from buying another after it is 5 years old.

RDM, 135 mph, is that as fast as the car will go? Does it have a governor or speed limiter? My 1995 has been faster than that (stock 7 years ago, one and only high-speed run - 230 plus kmh or 143 plus mph).

rmurdoch, car will go faster than 135.. other 6th geners have gone above 140... will probably push more if you had enough road. unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to push mine to the limit yet... soon hopefully... ;-)

Yup. My car's 1 year anniversary was Sunday. I can't believe its been a year already. I treated her to some premium 94 octane gas and some fuel system cleaner.

The Maxima is still a sweet ride, even a year later. I was getting out of my car this morning at work and two women getting into the car beside me said "Hey thats a beautiful car you have." Too bad they were fugly. lol

Does it really matter if the Max can go 135, 140, 145....its still one hell of a ticket...well probably lots of tickets....and where on the road can you safely do that kinda speed.....one deer and you are done....game over and you are out of quarters. I am more interested in how quickly I can pull out into traffic (0-60) and top gear acceleration (highway cruising, how quickly does the car respond) Very happy to say that the Max excels in all.

Congrads to all July 1 yr anniversaries. My 1yr is on the 31st w/17000mi, my total satisfaction out weighs the minor problems, so I won't list. Btw, this is a happy event.
