left turn signal won't cancel

[SIZE=6][FONT=Times New Roman]Second question: I read another thread posted here listing lots of reported problems with the 6th gen Maxima. One of those mentioned the left turn signal not returning to center. My car had 79 miles on it when I got it and I soon noticed that the left signal wouldn't cancel. I live about 200 miles from my dealer (western Kansas) and took the car back in for the service. The shop manager took about 20 minutes and then told me they'd have to order a new switch for it. Of course they didn't take anything apart and look, they just figured it had to be the switch. The switch won't return to center probably 95 times out of 100, but the other 5 times, it works fine.

The thread I referred to mentioned that this was easily corrected by a dealer adjustment. Can someone clue me in on this so I can print out the instructions in giant letters and present them to my dealer's service dept?

Thanks, lots of great info in the forums!

I've been noticing alot more Maxima's are driving with there turn signals on, including myself. I'm not the only guy with that problem. Well just have to get used to it.

Lots of '04 Maxima drivers are driving around with their turn signals going because the very quiet audio click of the turn signal does not adjust based on background noise, and is not manually adjustable via the 'personal settings' option.

As for the 'not turning itself off after a left turn' problem, That exact problem was addressed on this board a few months ago. IIRC, the solution was not a new switch, but a mechanical adjustment where the stalk is attached to the steering column.

As I recall, it was not a difficult fix. Maybe the person who posted this fix (or someone who remembers the details) will respond here.
