You should check your mileage, then check the TSB on the front pad/rotor problem. I just had mine replaced today free of charge, my tech even painted my calipers while he was doing it!!

How in heavens name could you need new brakes on a 2004 Maxima? How many miles on it? Do you drive 24 hours a day? I have a 95 with low mileage, 53,200 miles, but I won't need brakes any time soon because I don't use them. It is hard for me to imagine anyone needing brakes so soon. Granted my car is a 5-speed and I use the transmission to slow be down and hardly have to brake at lights or stop signs. Either your car has high mileage, there is something definitely wrong, or you stomp on your brakes.

I'm with rmurdoch. I have 60K on my five year old '00 SE, and nothing has been touched under the front end of my car (except for scheduled lubrication and normal tire replacement/rotation).

I am now becoming anxious about my '04 SL. It has been perfect so far, but the brake problems I am seeing here are worrisome.

They just had a problem with rotors being warped from the factory. I really didnt have a problem with mine per say, but I am turning 17000 miles soon and if their willing to do it free why not let them???

I just had my front rotors turned at 11.4K.. and the brakes squeeked really loudly when I first bought the car. Could I fall under the TSB coverage? I would have to have problems after the 12K mile period is up... Can anyone point me to this TSB?

Thanks

Thanks... Unfortunately, after looking at the only brake TSB I see (#04075) it looks like only the pads are to be replaced.
