Torque steer @ high speed ??

My '04SE reaches 1800miles and I'm ready to push. Just last night going home with my wife, a guy in an A4/1.8T pulled down the windows and looked over to me @the lights. Needless to say, I smoked him 3 times at the 3 lights. I'm still feeling bad having doing it with my wife in the car, won't do it again unless I'm alone. The street was empty so everybody just had a little kick. Street limit was 60mph. I only do 0-60 stand-stills only (never a 1/4mile thing).
I had VDC on all 3 times (feeling no need to turn it off). There's only a little chirp at startups. But the car pulled a bit hard to the right all the way. My car was still going straight but 'cause I was holding tight on the wheel. This is different from my '97. My old Max would be torque crazy @startups but put strong and straight all the way afterward. Tell you the truth, this will takes some getting used to. Do any of you feel this ? Or because I was holding the wheel with one hand.
Forgot to say, my SE is a 5spd/Auto and I left it in drive.

all maxs have the torque steer, you may notice it a little more cause we are dealing with more hp and tq then the 4th gens. It's only off the line, once you get that dialed its not to bad

The only cool thing I've noticed was in the rain dropping the tiptronic done to 3rd or 2nd and punching it, will lead to wheel spin and possible torque steer.

Another torque steer situation is when you're changing lanes and you downshift and crank it ! You have to make sure that you're ready for it. But not a huge problem anyways.

With VDC on, I have absolutely no issue off the line. The computer does it job very well. But from then on, the car pulls strong but kinda asking me "can I pull to the next lane just for fun ?"
Anyway, after a few runs, I kinda get a hang of it. With one relaxed hand on the wheel, I can adapt to the pulls easily.

I have not noticed any torque steer in my '04 5 speed SL, even when I pull out to pass in a very short passing zone (quick acceleration situation).

It is possible this may be because 20 years of Maxima driving has desensitized me to torque steer. . .

I will take close notice next time I push things and see if I am automatically compensating without realizing it.

In any case, I am a little surprised you are still fighting torque at speed. Torque is usually associated with initial takeoff, especially when turning at the same time.

I'm surprised too at why it wants to wander and not 100% straight ahead. Maybe it's the VDC intefering. So next time I will try to turn it off and see. And I'm not talking about lane passing situations. This is hard launches (80% to the floor). The VDC does wonder since I have no wheel-spins or front-end shifts. The Max moves like a rocket but I can feel the steering wheel pulls toward one side. I bet the car would move to the next lane if there is no hand on it.
