Has anyone found a cure for the display reading "an not read DVD"other than removing the DVD and starting all over again? This happens quite often when the vehicle is hot inside. The dealers know nothing about this.

I haven't had this happen to me, but someone else on the list was having this issue. They got the dealer to replace the DVD player.

Are there any scratches or other marks on the surface of the DVD itself?

No scratches. It seems to happen when the car is hot inside. Now all I get is disk error. Usually when I get to the dealer it starts working. LOL

It's happened to me too on a 3 hour trip. This was in cold weather and the heat was on in the car. Went on a trip about a month ago 4hours+ and it didn't happen. AC was on.

UPDATE- I spent 5 hours at the Nissan Dealer yeasterday and he said that he had to call Nissan to see which to replace the DVD reader or the Nav System. I told him my guess would be the reader. It constantly reads Disk Error. So now the wait. I have had trouble with it since I bought the car in September but it would never stay out long enought to get it to the dealer.

The new Nav came in and the dealer started installing it at 8:30AM. At 12:30 they gave me a rental car saying that once they put the new system in, the hole CAN system went out and there is no screen display. They figure it will take quite awhile to find the problem. It is probably in the area where they removed the nav console.
