Just found out that I'll have to wait until at least mid to late September before the dealers get the parts listings for '06 Nissans. Should be able to research this further then...

I read in the MT mag that the viewing angle of the info screen has to be within 30degrees from the driver's view. I wonder if I'll fail the state inspection if they see that the info screen os relocated to the botton of the center area.

I have a partial answer to this inquiry ... I just swapped the mono info screen with a used color nav screen I picked up on eBay ($170). All the in for displays properly: temp, time, radio, etc. Phase 1 is a success!!!

Still shopping for a DVD player and av converter. I wasn't expecting the converters to cost $250 to $350. Anyone have a cheaper option? When I converted my Honda I did it with $40 worth of parts from radio shack.

Im kinda curious about this swap too. I didnt make sense to pay $2,000 for a nav unit but it makes sense if its only a couple hundred bucks to have a color screen with all the amenities attached thereto.

On the other .org, I was told the color screen will not directly plug-in. That, and the fact that the screens sell for almost $200 on eBay made me decide against this.. I would rather get the eBay catback.
