Used 2004 maxima w / Elite

I was wondering if you guys could help me with making a decision on the purchase of a used 2004 Maxima. The dealer close to me just got in a maxima elite with 28k miles on it. They are asking $28353 for it is this to high? Also I noticed after test driving it that I could feel a slight shimmy in the wheel. The build date on this vehicle was 2/03.

you could do way better IMO. I have everything but elite, brand new, 4/04 for about 1k more than that (and no hint of shimmy). look elsewhere, terrible offer.

Thanks for the reply, this is exactly what I was thinking to. They are asking way to much for this vehicle IMO. My response to them was like you just sold a similar vehicle for $30850 with only 8k miles on it and a later build date. So when they told me this was their best offer I kindly got up and left

If you are serious about a maxima I am selling mine. I live in New Jersey though.

Keep in mind that this car was an early Elite when Nissan forced you to get the GPS with the Elite package. Car probably listed for $35K+. It's not a bad price considering that you can probably get the dealer to drop the price and negotiate depending on your trade and what other things you might "bundle" with the purchase, i.e. extended warranty, etc.

marmbmw... 28k miles and a year and a half old? too many miles IMO. at this point, just wait for the 2005's and throw down a few more G's for a new one.

I agree w/ 04SEelite. My elite listed for $35500. With 3500 miles on the car, I was able to get it for just over $30k.

I think you could get them down another 1k or 2k through some brief negotiations. You are then looking at a pretty good deal for a fine car.

Work into the deal that they fix the shimmy. I would also forego the extra 1k, and have them throw in an extended warranty up to 100k miles, considering that the factory warranty is nearly up.

FriscoMax, does your elite have navigation and sunroof?

Nav adds about $2k to the price. Sunroof adds about $900.

If you have these...then I'd say you got a completely unbelievable deal. They must be really anxious to get rid of the '04s at this point.

Hey guy's there are some things I forgot to mention when I posted this thread;
1. The vehicle was bought at an auction
2. The vehicle has a full carbon fiber dash and door kit installed
3. The G35 spoiler is installed on the vehicle along with the stock spolier(interesting look if I must say)
4. The speedometer and tach bezels have a slightly different look to them (darker than stock)

Also my friend keeps telling me to get the 2004 TL instead, but I like the room of the maxima and the different look that the elite pkg. adds to the interior.

Well, I'm the guy they should have let walk out of the dealership that day. Sticker plus dealers adds was about 34k. I paid well under that with $0 down, 3.9% financing, and no payments till October.

No Jrdussell915, no Nav, no Sunroof. I wouldn't have minded the roof but the Skyview is a heck of a conversation piece and the Burnt Orange interior with Black(onyx) exterior is awesome.

I agree with you. I have the Onyx exterior w/ Burnt Orange leather as well. Very sharp looking.

Haha that is so true man. Everyone wants to know if it opens and when you tell them no they don't stop talking and wondering which way it would open if it did and how it would open.
