i saw on custommax.com that it will be released next month....would have to imagine that it will replace your cat-converter so once installed and match with the greddy sp2 that i have on already....i will not pass emissions in the state of NY.....your thoughts???

wow, finally some mods, if you look at southwest auto works they mention about a cattman y-pipe for our cars. From reading up, the vq35de engines don't get the increase in power from the y-pipe like the vq30 ( 4th gen engines). For us its all about the header, y-pipe combo. I've looked into it and hot shot headers, was trying to retro fit a 02-03 header setup on the 6th gen. I'm calling them today to find out the situation.

 

keep us updated on the header, I really want one.

 

Just spoke to them. I was told that the person who purchased the 02/03 headers for his 6th gen, has had his phone disconnected and she stated she sent him emails and has not responded. So the question is now again up in the air. Did the guy get them to fit no problems, did he have to do some customizing to get it to work or has enough money where he didn't care that they didn't work at all and threw them out. I hate this gray area shizzal

 

I was sitting around thinking about the header situation. So if the company doesn't know, I'll try to find a way. I called up nissan parts service and asked them if the exhaust manifold ( headers replace exhaust manifold i believe) for the 02/03 has the same part # as the 04. And the tech I questioned, sounded surely positive that they are two different designs.

That looks a lot like what they were prototyping on my car last winter. I wonder if i'll still get that discount on it....Even tho i have not heard from them in months on it.

 

ordered it...will get it in september....have the sp2, stillen intake....now y-pipe...then headers....CANT WAIT!!

 

Why spend the money on a Y pipe if your gonna get headers later on? Just wandering. Be sure to let us know how it performs when you get it.

 

why get a y-pipe then headers when the headers also replaces the y-pipe. Watch yourself buddy, you might be ripping yourself off.

Greg from CM contacted me this morning. They are expecting the part to be in next week. If i can get off work, i'll drive up there and have it installed and dyno'd and share the results with you all.

 

Mystery Man - Are you going to dyno pre Y pipe and after? I have pretty much the same setup as you with Greddy's and Stillen Intake and would love to see how things turn out. I dynoed mine after mods and unfortunately don't know how much of gain I got because I didn't dyno pre-mod. Thanks MAX brother!

 

I believe they dyno'd before and after already on the prototype piece, but never released those numbers, i'm sure they'll do the same this time around.
