Question: Why didn't Nissan put vent in sunroof visor?

I was in a co-worker's Mazda and noticed he could tilt the sunroof up and still keep the visor/shade closed as it has louvers for venting.

Then I looked in a VW Passat and saw the same thing.

So why didn't Nissan put this in their cars? Can't be that much more to design and put it in. It's only a plastic grill...

Any thoughts?

(Yeah, I thought about getting the part from another parts dealer and dremeling it in...but not yet...then I thought about a few solarcells glued flush to the visor and some little PC Harddrive fans...)

Yea my dad's '00 Monte Carlo SS has that feature as well. I like that idea personally. This way you can leave the shade closed and get some air flow still but in a way, the 6th gens moon roof barely opens so I don't know if it would be benificial or not.....

why not just crack open the sun-shade? It sucks air out, so you don't feel air coming in anway.

Like Maxima80, I have had good luck either cracking the sunshade a few inches with the sunroof tilted, or sliding the sunroof button to position #1 (one quarter open) and letting the sunshade remain covering the other three-quarters of the opening.

I have never been in a car with louvered sunshade, so cannot know for sure how I would like it. Neither do I know whether Nissan even considered louvering the sunshade on the 6th gen.
