Info Panel MPG silly
Info Panel MPG silly
I have taken the Max on two trips using the Trip button on the info panel and find the information so bizarre that it cannot be what Nissan had in mind when designing the panel selections. The trip button when selected usually gives a MPG reading of about 89 MPG sometimes a bit less, 69 MPG.
Pushing the other button that is giving the present MPG, not the trip average, will yield 18 MPG as the answer.
When I manually checked my fuel economy on a 600 mile loop to DC, I got 29 MPG; a 300 mile loop to Cleveland yielded 24 MPG. But these manual checks at the pump are so inaccurate due to filling choices. Stop here, keep pumping ???
That's what would make the computer answers valuable, but mine are disturbingly inaccurate. I guess I need service. What do you say?

The trip button gives you average speed over a time frame in MPH not MPG. It should be reset at the beginning of each trip or otherwise will average speed since last reset.
The fuel economy button also needs to be reset at each fill up or otherwise will average since last reset. Reset the fuel economy by holding down for 3-4 seconds.

Usually 20-22. Everything's local and I hardly use the highway
