Does it make the ride real stiff? Or do you only notice it in the turns? Hate to give it a rougher ride.

strut bars don't give the car a 'rougher ride'

It rides exactly the same on straight roads. you will only feel it while cornering or making a turn. It will eliminate a lot of chassis flex making your cornering just a tad better. After this mod, a rear sway bar will be key.

If you want an ultimate suspension mod, change your tires.

Does the front strut bar rub against the intake when you hit a bump or put the gear in reverse? How much clearance does the strut bar have on intake?

Did you install the rear sway bar and front strut tower bar at the same time ?

or did you have the RSB on before ?

Thanks Bob

Nice! It flows nicely with the engine bay as well. Maybe after I get my shimmy fixed I'll look into both of these...

Damn!! (can I say that?) I ordered the Stillen FSTB way back on Aug 10th and it has still not shipped! I called SWA today and expressed my displeasure with the situation (since they debited my Visa card on 8/10) and they said they just got a shipment in today.
What a load of crap. I am starting to think that customer service at Stillen is not one of their top priorities. Unfortunately, when it comes to mods for the 04 Max, you don't have a lot of options.

SWA and STILLEN are 2 totally differennt entities. SWA does sell some STILLEN products.

Yeah, Bob, I know that Stillen and SWA are two separate businesses. The point I was trying to make is that the bars have been back ordered to SWA for a month. It's not Southwest's fault that they can't get the product from Stillen.
The only reason I ordered from SWA was the price: $149.99 which includes the cost of shipping. I would have gladly paid the extra 10 bucks if I knew I could get the FSTB in a normal amount of time.

I hear what you're saying.

But i guess my point is that you're a client of SWA in this transaction who happen to be selling you a STILLEN product.

If i was the customer in this case, i'd be ticked at SWA for not letting me know that the bars were not in, taking my money, not advising me of the back order until i have to call myself looking for my item and to see what's going on 5 weeks later.

For what it's worth i know how you feel because its happened to me before too. I hope you get your FSTB soon !

It took an extra month or so for stillen to send me a new sideskirt since the kit i got was broken. I'm glad i got it, but it took a lot of work just to get answers from SWA. Good thing they arn't back ordered, i think i may be ordering one of them shortly.

I WAS ticked at Southwest, for the exact reasons you mentioned. Believe me, they got an earful from me today. And this was the THIRD time that I called them in the last month. But in the long run, it didn't help me get the bar any sooner!

akaxmrxhammer, The FSTB looks great. I think I might look into getting one as well. BTW, I noticed your floormats you had in your cardomain pics...they look pretty good & I'd like to get some rubber mats for my Max to use in the winter. What can you tell me about them?

Now you HAVE to add this:

I wish I could ride an 04 with the RSB and FSTB to feel the difference to absolutely convince myself to get them. Plus I need more money. Then I could add the battery brace to look perfect. Oh and I got heavy duty black mats from Wally's that fit perect.

How'd you know that? I live right off 83. Don't be surprised if I stop by someday. But is that 8 hours LAC time or MAX time? Because everything has become closer since I got her. From what I've seen, Canadian women are beautiful. We could cruise around...

.......been through that area many times.....

By the way......you heard right about the women.

A cruise down St-Catherine Street in Montreal, Quebec on a warm, sunny summer afternoon, will have you loading up the U-Haul and heading over to the Immigration office in no time.

AKAXMRXHAMMER - now that you have had the FSTB in for a couple of weeks - can you tell a difference? Also, what mods did you have to do to the strut top covers to get the brace installed?

Thanks for the reply...

big difference in cornering. money well spent! i could hit the corner 20 mph+ faster with my fstb and my rsb. it was an easy install. all you have to to is take the plastic cover off of the front strut tower and follow the instructions. it took me about 15 mins to install. i'll post some pictures if you need help installing it.

2k4MaximaSE: get the FSTB and RSB, your Max won't drive the same again! You'll totally forget what braking while cornering/going through roundabouts/etc is. I love how fast I can go while everyone else on the road is slowing down. Now, people will tell you that the FSTB is a show mod. But it does its job of reducing chassis flex quite well. The RSB is awesome too, well the Max is no RWD car but I doubt you'll find someone who doesn't love their RSB.
