I have been having some problems with my struts as of late. I have had to have two replaced because they were bad. Will adding the stillen bar in the front and rear make these crappy nissan struts fail easier? Does anyone have 20" rims on the 04 max b/c i was wondering how the ride is.

Also did you guys notice and increace in HP from the stillen intake? Can it be used without a box in areas where you get alot of rain like NYC? Sorry for the newbie tuning questions....

How about the exhaust how does it sound and did it help the power at all ( not like we really need another reason for a speeding ticket)

thanks

FSTB is like $150 and RSB $160 I believe? I was just looking at the Stillen site not too long ago, but I forgot.

Dealer shoulda told you new ones were designed that everyone (well those with problems) are waiting for. I doubt the bar would help. I hope our struts become a recall item. Stealerships will probably try to blame it on the FSTB to get out of swapping for new ones.

The FSTB and RSB will just decrease chassis flex and body roll, they have nothing to do with the struts. They would go bad faster if you decided to lower the car due to the higher spring rates, etc. I don't see why the stealership would blame it on your FSTB, but if it's that big of a deal it just takes 5 min to take it off before you go to the dealer.

You are very correct. My point was dealers have this huge hang up about mods and warranty. (like mine) If a mod even touches something that goes wrong, they automatically want to blame you. Taking it off would save you a lot of hassle with fighting their bs claims. But I've heard where dealers remembered, or even took pictures when they noticed mods earlier, then brought it up when trying to get warranty coverage.

Similar actions in the thread about the black box and BMW saying everyone's engine that was "blowing up" was fron over-revving until a guy exposed their bold-faced lie since he had the tip-tronic like ours where over-rev is impossible.

I'm taking my intake off when i bring it in to get my front struts done this week. I know that it's not suspension related but I don't want to take any chances and plant any thoughts in their minds that they will remember if anything ever goes wrong with the MAF or whatever. My dealer has served me like a King in the past, but you never know.

I asked Brian at Berk Technology and he said that the berk intake would not void warranty. He said it would only void warranty if you change out the MAF. But you are right, better safe than sorry.

It's not worth the "minor" risk. It's so easy to take it out and put it back in. Can probalby do it in less than 45 minutes.

I used to even take off the cf engine cover just to be on the safe side. I always ask the dealership first but sometimes they lie and then your in trouble.
