What to use on leather seats

What are people using to clean and condition their 6th generation leather seats?

I use a damp towel to clean and then use "Zaino Z10 - Leather in a bottle". It conditions and protects "without" a greasy oily film. It also smells like real leather.

I can tell you what NOT to use. Meguires leather cleaner/conditioner. It's probably a good product, but it goes on as a white colored liquid and you work it into the leather. On my Max though, the white liquid got all in the durned holes in the leather. Thought it would just disappear in a day or two, but I had to get a toothpick and an old toothbrush to get that stuff out of the holes. Grrrrrr......

This is what "Zaino - Z10 - Leather in a Bottle" looks like on black seats. I used a Mr Clean Magic Eraser to clean the seats first and wiped them dry with a cotton towel.

I applied the Z10 with a terry wax applicator and rubbed it in. After 10 minutes or so, i buff it up with a cotton towel.

The pics were taken right after i applied it. The Zaino just soaks right in and disapppears (even in the perforated parts of the seats)

Too bad i can't make the pics "scratch and sniff". Z10 smells so much like real leather.

Hope this helps,

Bob

Griott's Garage leather cleaner and conditioner.

A product called Hide Food is the best and recommended by Connolly leather, but I can't find it naymore in the US and my dealer said it is no longer distributed in the US

I would be very careful about putting any leather cleaner/conditioner on the perforated portion of the seats anyway, as this is section that is heated. I use the Meguiars product and so far it has been fine, but I don't treat the perforated section.

Which Meg's are you using ? I don't like the high gloss and shine that the Meg's Gold Class Leather Cleaner & Conditioner and produces.

Let me know if you need help choosing what to get. I'm pretty impressed with their exterior products. I've tired everything on my silver Max, consumer stuff, Meg's Pro line, high end waxes (Pinnacle), etc....and nothing has made my silver look as glossy, glass-looking and wet looking as a combination of ZFX, Z5 and Z2. And it stays that way for a while. I have about 8 coats on it right now. This stuff layers nicely and is very easy to use. You do need to prep your car properly before applying (polish, remove old wax,,,etc..).

Here's a quick shot of my fender:

That's what I use...Gold Class...I don't find it produces a high gloss at all on my black leather seats, but then I don't use tons of it, only very little at a time...and I always buff the seats down after about 10 minutes using a clean, dry terry towel.
