I can't believe you guys like wing-type spoilers. They are so rice. But it almost looks like they are trying to come back (witness the Subie WRX, Mitsu Evo and the other "fast and furious" skates).

IMO, the subtle lip spoiler is the ticket ... it actually gets you some decrease in Cd and doesn't scream "Race me!".

Im leaning towards the OEM spoiler, however i have heard of dealers messing up on the install and placing it off center. Is this something I can do myself or is it something that requires drilling etc... also will it affect the vehicles warranty?

Here is the OEM type from Driver FX. It is easy to install, comes with a template and will not affect your warranty.

I mentioned it in the GB forum. Someone was looking for what people would be interested in. $299+paint...ugh too much for that thing.
Put it this way, the fenders are selling for $420. This piece of lexan sells for $120 cheaper than a pair of full metal fenders? It can't just be me thinking this. I like the look of it but even on ebay you save what, like $10-$20? I wish they'd come down on that price.

What ever happened to the GTS solar shades....they were kinda inexpensive, came tinted, and went on with 3M tape. No reason a cheap piece of plastic should cost so much....than getting one primered and painted....

Yes, I know it is a hatchback and the solar wing is a different style....but hell, I imagine someone can make a nice smoke one pretty cheap that will blend in with the rear tint.....300 bucks or so for something that is not going to come painted and just a piece of plastic....what is that plastic made from? Platinum/Gold composite compound....LOL...just spicing things up as usual...

On another factor, wonder when some smoke tail light covers will be made for the Maxima, the GTS style easy on easy off ones.....If I remember years ago, they were pretty cheap.

It does, but only if you stand away from the car. close up, I think it has the same effect as the stock spoiler.

I've seen a pic of a Max recently on here that had the 2 spoilers on it.

As far as i'm concerned...2 spoilers = 1 too many.

I would trade trunk lid covers with someone that doesn't have a spoiler and install the new spoiler on a clean cover.

I had the factory one on my 98 and opted not to do it on this one. It looks nice but I want to keep it clean and sleek. Also how much doe's a 3" spoiler help with traction? I refuse to put a 2' wing on my car. So with that in mind and the possibility of leaks (like my last one did) I'm happy without.

SL clean look

The OEM spoiler looks OK, but I like a car with clean lines and to my eye, a spoiler adds "clutter" (certainly a subjective, personal view). On the SL especially, which is what I purchased, I think the car looks better without a spoiler.

I like the way the spoiler(s) spice up the car. Make it more distinctive.

I love my OEM spolier. I installed a rare nissan emblem and 2 red led's in the holes that were there when I took off the nissan one. When I hit the brakes they light up.

I must agree with Dues. I think he has the spoiler that Nissan should have used. the factory one is ok, but only says "here i am" not "WATCH OUT, MAXIMA COMMING THROUGH." like a Max should.

Thanks. I parked next to a G35 coupe with spoiler and the lines of mine are nearly identical to the G spoiler. Mine looks more muscular, like it should. Its the exact look I want and fits my Max better than the original car it came from, a WRX.

The OEM lip spoiler is a must have, it serves a purpose, and the emblem is just the right size. I dont like the massive emblem that comes when theres no spoiler, and the edge looks better than the rounded trunklid. IMO theres nothing 'clean' looking about popping the emblem off the spoiler and having the circle and 2 holes still there...now if you removed the spoiler and cut the rounded part off and finished it that would beclean, yet noone has ever attempted this to my suprise.
