what do you guys think about the spoiler?

Just wondering what your feelings were on the rear spoiler on the max. Fire away...

I like the OEM spoiler but the only thing I do not like about it is the Nissan logo and the shape that is still there if you remove the emblem off the spoiler. Still has the round shape of the circle under it. Other than that....I actually like it, but still like the trunk without the spoiler, nice and clean look is good too.

I feel the sporty image and sometimes agressive use of the SE would make the spoiler a natural fit. I like the carefully understated Nissan OEM spoiler.

In my opinion, the mixed luxo-sport image and sometimes more laid-back usage of the SL is better suited to a clean trunk (no spoiler).

In actuality, every SE I have ever owned had a spoiler, but I did not want one on my '04 SL.

well then you have an option, find an oem, or get the G35 one with leds, someone posted it here from eBay once.

I love my oem spoiler.

I like the OEM, but i like this one even better:

I think that tihs is Mystery Man's Max (hope you don't mind).

I'll be doing this mod soon, but Canadian **** and i will have to trade trunk lids first.

You can find the spoiler here:

I like the simple look of the OEM. Also I'm intrigued by the apparant functionality of it. The quoted CD numbers from Nissan were something like .31 without, or .28 with. So it does lower the drag. The question then is, does it actually have an effect on fuel economy? Not much, but every bit helps.

Here's my OEM spoiler without the "hamburger". I think this is the cleanest look.

Do I see two small holes where the burger once was? I thought it was on with two way tape like the Maxima and SE signs?

I dig the OEM. I don't mind the hamburger at all. But maybe a nice LED strip to replace it in the center of the spoiler wouldn't be a bad idea like some of the Cadillac's have. Not as long though.

The hamburger is held on with double backed tape, but there are two prongs on the back of the emblem that fit into two alignment holes in the spoiler. I took two small "buttons" (actually screw cap covers), painted them to match the car and siliconed em over the holes. It was just a temporary fix, until I thought up something better. I kinda like how it looks now, I might not ever change it.

I just looked again and actually it doesn`t look that bad without the hamburger. I could get used to it. I wonder if you could cut the area out and file or grind it straight across and paint it where it was ground. Do you understand what I`m trying to say? You might even have to use a little body puddy. I would see if a body shop could do it, then there would be no blemish. Just a thought.........

Yes, you could cut the "tab" off. I thought about doing that a while back. A body shop could definitely do this for you. While your'e at it, fill in the two little holes and repaint the whole thing. I think that would look really clean.

I'm just not quite ready to yank the spoiler off....yet.

Yeh, I`d like to see that. I`m in the second year of a four year lease so I have to be careful what I do. I haven`t decided if I`m going to purchase after the lease.

Those are the sarona pieces. I like the upper spoiler, but their price was way too much. The body kit they offer is too "wild" for my taste at this time.

Yeah I like the window spoiler but the pricing is just nuts. At $99 I'd likely pick it up. It should NOT cost $250 for that little bit of trim. A nice painted aftermarket spoiler with brake light doesn't cost that much and has much more material and complication in manufacturing.

I think its actually $299 for the window spoiler. I believe andymax has it and i think it used 2 sided tape as well for install. 300 bucks for that is not worth it at all.

I'm actually going to purchase a spoiler for my car, but not any of the ones that have been shown. The spoiler I'm going to get for my car is off of eBay it's the g35 spoiler.

You mean the one 3 people posted on page 1? That G35 with leds is sweet. Or have you found yet another one?

The one they sell, is basically a G35 sedan spoiler. They used to have the pic of it on a g but for a maxima. So he is probably mistaken. For the coupe, he's probably right tho.

Wish the factory spoiler had a 3rd brake light like a real spoiler is supposed to have, otherwise it looks just fine.
