Finding a Good Ground?

A question from a newbie!!

I was going to ask this queston in the "How To" section, but it was closed.
I'm in the process of re-installing my V-1 Radar Detector in the new ride and was wondering about the ground wire. Is there a "preferred" place to ground this under the dash somewhere around the fuse box? Also, what about a good place for the power lead.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm not much into electrical stuff.

Thanks,
Gato

The 12V power points are good places to tap into.

Ahhh!!! Great place, I didn't even think of that. I doubt I will ever use the hidden one on the passenger side. Now, back out to re-route the wires.

I hard wired mine to the mirror power and ground leads per the sticky that is posted. I've had this for about 8 months now with no problems...
