05 12V @ shifter on an 04?

Does anyone know if the center console will fit from an 05 onto an 04?

I want to get the 05 center near the shifter so that I can have the factory 12V connection to plug things into. The one inside my box is cool, but not easy to access. I can take care of the wiring. I just want to know if the sizing is the same.

I'm kind of obsessed with this feature and have even considered trading my 04 for an '05 to get it

I can't see why it wouldn't fit. The cost should be fairly obscene on it though.

I would be very surprised if the '05 console was not exactly the same size/fit as the '04. In comparing the console of an '05 SL with the console of my '04 SL, other than the extra power outlet, I could not find even the tiniest difference. In comparing the '05 SE console with an '04 SE, the only differences I could find were the new scratch-resistant finish on the console top and center dash column and the extra power outlet on the '05.

IIRC, someone here thinking of replacing his scratched '04 SE console parts with '05 (more scratch-resistant) parts priced the particular piece you are considering at around $200. Most posters were surprised it cost that much.

If I were in your place, I would consider getting the outlet hardware first (perhaps even from Nissan), measure it very carefully, then drill the exact size hole needed in the console you have.

but if you only replace that section, it will stick out clashing with the center console, doors, etc. It has to fit the same because not much has changed and the few changes happened very quickly in the plant.
