Goodyear near miss

Max SE has 16K on it and noticed today that the right front tire is about to separate the tread from the sidewall. I want these POS's off my car!

I've never explored the sports car tire market, what are my best options for the stock rim? Can I fit a little beefier tire on it?

I've done some poking around, I don't see many options in the 245-45/18??

best bet that i've seen are Michelin Pilot A/S $$$$$$ and Pirelli P Nero Zero M+S which are rare in our size.

I don't remember where the threads are, but I do recall several posters who found a FULDA tire and a TOYO tire they liked on their '04 SE, and which were much less expensive than the Michelin.

I had the same problem with my front left POS Goodyears! Had to replace them. I went with the Yokohamas AVS ES 100's. They are AWESOME!!! True performance tire and are very sticky with my Stillen RSB. Stoked with them.

Those Yokohama's look pretty sweet, how are they wearing? I think it's between the Michelin Sport A/S, Pirelli P Zero, and the Yoko. Any opinions on maybe squeezing a 245-40/18 on the rear and stick with the 45's on the front?

I agree completely and you have them ranked correctly as 1 and 2. When the time comes next year for new tires, I'll probably go with the Michelins even though I hate the French -- they seem to build the best tire.
