Is Paint covered??

I have rock chips all over my front bumper and all the way up my hood to the windshield. I treat my car very well and never drive behind trucks or anything like that. It has to be a paint defect. I mean I understand a few hear and there. I started to count them, was up to 100 and started to feel ill. This has to be covered somehow.

You have nothing to loose but to ask your dealer to cover it. Make a compelling argument, and kick up some dust if you have to.

It will likely come down to number of miles on the car...and how many of those miles are from highway driving. If you do a lot of highway driving, the car is more susceptible to nicks/chips aka road rash.

I asked the service manager at my local dealership that same question. I do a lot of highway driving, and the potential for nicks in the paint is greater in my case. I did have one chip, but it was relatively small.

He told me that paint is typically not covered unless Nissan designates there to be a defect or recall. He said that, in his experience, that had never happened.

Best of luck to you...and let us know how you do.

Not sure, tho when i told them i was getting a body kit they said the only think it would void would be the paint warranty. With this in mind, i plan on having them fix everything, bumper and hood, right before i install it. If it isn't covered why would it matter if i voided that part? It must serve some purpose.

When selling you the car and extended warranty, it sounds so wonderful. But when needed, there are all these grey areas and misleading. If you call Nissan you hardly ever get a straight answer leading to "It's up to the discretion of the dealer." Discretion, we might as well not have a warranty. For paint, there basically isn't one. Unless it starts peeling early or discoloration/fades, they will claim, normal wear and tear. Sucks that Nissan is fine with their paint chipping and scratching so easily.
