04 SL Shift ****

Got a 04 SL. Would like a new shift ***. Which ***** to i search for? Is this even possible?

It's an auto tranny but there is no button on the ****. Do i just put a manaul **** on it?

Would greatly appreciate it if someone who has done it or knows some hard info to chime in.

Thanks!

Any manual **** will fit that has a allen wrench to tighten it to the stalk after the stock **** is removed. I know because I have a chrome ball **** on now since the stock shift **** broke. Many ***** have allen wrench bolts that tighten it on and then a sleeve to cover the bolts. Any auto parts store should have them....just have to look. Now, if the **** is threaded, there will not be a way you can use it as unlike some manual shifts that the shift **** threads on, just like a bolt, the automatic **** has no threads. Hope this helps. Momo should have some wood grain *****. After my stock **** broke and was spinning around, just removed it, went to the local auto part store and bought a temp **** that mounted with 3 allen bolts to tighten it down....as about 15 bucks. Not the greatest, but better looking than the stock and feels better in your palm than the stock bulky one until I get the chance and money to blow on a nice one. Hope this helps.

So to recap, I should be looking for a non-threaded manual **** that can be tightened with say an allen wrench right?

You are correct. Once you take the stock **** off, you are left with a tapered, unthreaded shaft.

Yep Yep, takes one second to remove the stock one, 2 minutes to install a new one. Hell, just buy a cheap one to try out and you will know what I mean. Watch the allen bolts though, sucks when you drop them, they are hard to find....well, in a black interior....LOL.
