I called my sevrice manager today for an appointment; getting a creaking/groaning with ticking/slight knocking noise on front left. She immediately said "I know what that is....strut"

It can also give you very loose suspension and a lot of travel. You hit a bump and the car just keeps bouncing.

Just had my '04 SL in the shop this morning for the same strut replacement I had about four months ago (front, right). I asked the service manager if I should expect to keep replacing this every few months and he indicated there have been a lot of problems, but Nissan is supposedly working on redesigning the strut. The strut he put on mine this morning is a different part number from last time, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the last one!

Oh yeah, it is a klunk, klunk sound when you're going slowly over a bumpy road. It wasn't too noticeable on the highway.
