2-way alarm system, anyone?

has anyone installed a two way alarm system with remote? I'm hoping to learn of any experiences someone has had installing and using one of these systems. I've seen that someone has a Clifford RS3.5 or something and would really like to know if you are still able to use features such as rolling down the windows by holding the unlock button. Also, can the auto start feature be installed? Please let me know what sort of things are available and any recommendations of systems. thanks so much.

I've installed a 2 way alarm and remote start system in my max. I control the window up AND down with an auxillary channel instead of holding the unlock button. Depending on the alarm you could program it to that way if you wanted.

I'm using a no name brand in my car due to one of my wholesalers pushing it on me. But, if I were to install a system I would go with a DEI LED 2 way system. The remote still gives you visual and audible confirmations but, it does so with out the LCD screen. If there is no LCD screen there is nothing to crack!

The LED and LCD systems both work the same so, go with what you think is best for you. Which ever one you choose make sure that it is professionally installed and ask the installer if he's done a 2004+ maxima already.

With that being said, extra features that you may want is a back-up battery, sunroof module to open and close with the alarm, maybe a window module for the rear windows (if you don't have the elite package). Misc. options to turn on when remote started such as heated seats, heated steering wheel, rear defrost, etc.

PS - When you install a remote start in our cars you will need to bring an extra key to give to the installer, usually the valet key. He will have to hide it in the car in order for the remote start to work properly. This will bypass the factory immobilizer.

I have the RS 3.5 and it comes with the remote start feature standard (they didn't hide my key, there's a bypass sensor you have to install) . It does feature 2 way confirmation of all functions that you perform ie: remote start, arm disarm and if your alarm goes off it will notify you with beeping or vibration (your choice)
You can add many features as well:
Audio Sensor
Digital Tilt/ Motion Sensor
Field Disturbance Sensor
Window Automation System
Trunk Release Solenoid
Factory Anti-theft Bypass Modules
Multi-Channel Pager

They also offer GPS tracking, you can login and see where your car is at all times. You can even start your car if your in China and your car is at home.
