I got 04' Max'd yesterday !!

After a ton of research, drooling, and paying attention to this forum, finally worked a deal and picked up my new Liquid Silver, BlackLeather, sunroof equip'd 04 Max SL. My goodness !!! What an amazing car !! In my previous test drives I never had the opportunity to get it out on my favorite on ramps or country roads. After a few rides in both the SL and SE, I am sure I ended up making the right choice (for me) with the SL. Wheel/tires on the SE look sweet'r but the 17's/suspension is a better choice for the driving I do. Wasn't too fond of the wood at the beginning but now starting to grow on me. I happen to think that it really is set off best with the black leather. Perhaps not my first choice for SoCal or FL, but no problem near the Windy City. (I think the frost is a bit too light ....others agree ?.....seemed every car I sat in new or used had scuff marks, dirt showing on wheel/handles.)
All I can say is Wow!

After putting almost 200 thou miles and 8 years behind the windshield of my VW Jetta, I am glad to report that driving is FUN again !! I know I am supposed to not be too hard on it during break in, so being kind with the right foot. .......but my moderate "on-ramp" test yesterday put me up to 100 mph so fast I was just giggling !!
I again want to thank everyone for creating and maintaining such an excellent site/resource for these cars. All the info really helped me out a ton. Given this car is a long term (100K/5 yr +) committment for me, I opted for the looong term full on warranty. Time will tell if was the right choice for me. Needless to say, I confirmed that the struts are covered

My car was built in June, with a VIN #92XXXX.... so I hope they built it right.

Best,
Dave

Silver with black leather is an excellent choice for Wisconsin. And if you take this car on any long freeway trips, you will be thankful for the easy-riding SL suspension. I also chose the SL, and feel like I'm riding in a Cadillac with Porsche maneuverability. . . well, almost.

Hope to see you here often, Dave.

CONGRATS!!! Enjoy it as much as I do mine. You will not be sorry...and do not be afraid of all the bad 04 hype. This car has great room, nice power for the size, and good lux.

Now, just add a different grill.....personal choice if you do not like the stock one, and you are set.
