Just Installed Stillen Exaust
Drove down to Stillen today and got the Rear Section installed. So here are my thoughts:
1) The oval tips aren't that bad. I wanted dual tips, but the ovals are growing on me.
2) Exhaust is much quieter than expected. I don't really like loud exhausts, but this is a little too quiet for my liking. The tone, however, is good. A deep growl.
3) Performance gains are a bit disappointing, but it's been raining all day, so I haven't been really able to push it. Throttle is more responsive.
4) Overall, I'm a little disappointed. This is probably due in large part to the fact that I've been waiting forever for this thing to come out. Would've gone with the Greddys but the tip's just too big for my taste.
I'll post pics when I get around to it.

Im not sure but I doubt it. I know hotshot offers a street legal version for the other maxima and altimas but so far I dont think they have any plans for our cars. Im almost certain that the cattman header will not be street legal.

Alrighty you guys, here are the pics:
I like the exhaust a lot better than when I first got it. Performance gains are more noticeable now that the roads are dry. I also placed an order for the Y-Pipe so I'll be pretty stoked in about a week. Of course I'll let ya'll know when I get that installed.

Edify; They look a lot better than in the picture on the Stillen website but then again you couldn't really make out how they look from that picture. Have you heard the Stillen exhaust on a 3.5 Altima? Do they sound like that exhaust? If you get an opportunity to post a sound clip, that would be nice.
I will post pics of my system once it gets finalized (Bryan the pressure is on).

In Northern Virginia you only have to take the emissions test every two years. I don't know what the requirements are for other states. Just take it off and put the stock pipe on for the inspection. I bet this is what others do. Some of the idiots at the garages say they wont pass your car on the annual inspection if you have a intake on your car. Most of them that say that are the jealous ones that can't afford a nice car with mods on it. Haters will be haters.
Edify, that Stillen exhaust would look sweet if they had dual oval tips.

I was told by a mechanic to stay away from the Y pipe for now because of sensor issues and that if Nissan knew about the Y pipe they wouldn't honor the warranty for any kind of engine problems. Not sure how true or incorrect this is, but it certainly sounds right. Since the Y pipe isn't something that I can remove myself, such as the intake, I'm going to stay away from it for a bit.

they only thing i think that would cause your car from failing is putting in a free flowing cat or the racing headers you said. a new exhaust will not do that if it street leagal from the manufacturer. whoever the techwho said they would not pass the car if it had an intake should be smacked across the head with you old plastic nissan crap filterbox and pipe

I installed the stillen exhaust as well and I liked the look but not to impressed on the sound, I have an injen intake and it drowns out any sound of the exhaust, the stillen exhaust is very quiet similar to the stock exhaust, its a little deeper but not that much, i guess its because its the rear section only, what i would like to know is if you can buy the Greddy Mid-pipe after the cat and do the Y-pipe how it will sound.
Eddify after you install that Y-Pipe give me some feedback on how it sounds..do you have a 6spd or auto???
