Rough start!

This scared the crepe out of me.

This morning while starting my 04 Max, no mods, 24,000 miles, automatic, it made a knocking sound for about 5 seconds. Almost like if it was diesel. It was about 45 degrees, so it was a little colloer than usual.

After it stoped I backed out of the driveway, and other than the hardshifting when cold, I had no problems. No smoke out of the tailpipe or anything.

By the way hi guys!

You my friend are a victim of a selenoid valve problem. You need to take it in to get checked out before it kicks into a fail safe mode and your car won't go in reverse and will start to skip. Also check your transmission oil and make sure its a translucent pinkish color
