i just got my new 2005 maxima se with navagation... bascially fully loaded, it has navagation, power sunroof and vdc along with power sunroof

its so nice i love it black on black...

also it has xenon headlights =)

im gettin my system installed next week its a 1100 RMS Audiobahn sub with a 2400 Watt Amp... anybody know any good places around north jersey also how much is installation roughly... im also planning on getting tints if anyone could suggest a place... what would be the maximum % i could get without being caught...

 

Well it's not North Jersey, but you can try Don down in Edison (pearl96max) if you want to keep it in the .org.

 

If you go by the book, you can't have ANY tint on the driver or passenger side windows, and the rear glass tint cannot cover the third brake light. You can tint the windshield down to AS-1 and no mirror tint anywhere. That's what the Jersey MVC says as of today (http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/cleanair/faq.html)

If you don't go by the book, then I'd say look at 50% with the black interior and see how it looks... black on black with 50% might be nice... 35% might show up as too dark, but it's your car so it's your call...

I think I posted this before, but my friend got his inspection rejected because he had 20% on his Honda... it probably won't apply to you because it's a new car, but it looks like Jersey is picky about tints just like NY (even though they don't reject you in NY for tints).

As far as the place, I'd say go down and talk to Tom at the Art of Tint. If you're around the city let me know and you can see what he did to my smoke in person.

 

I have my tints with 35% in the rear and 50 on the sides. Looks OK, should have went darker. Cops do NOT bother me though. I am in North Jersey.

 

What? No tint on the passenger and driver side window? That would look ridiculous. And you can't cover the brake light?

Sounds awesome man. ONYX MAX rules! you have the 3 features I would love, but not available off the lot/04. VDC, NAV, and dim ext mirrors. You sir have a fantastic ride. system and tint off the bat too... see you don't play around. I decided against the 2, but would be great. I'm installing a secondary alarm this week, waiting for extra parts.

Post some pics new and once the tint is complete.

WindowS... basically saying no tint on any side windows. You can tint the rear glass if you want. I thought NY was bad...

Since you live in Wayne. There is a place on RT46 in South Hackensack right next to 21st cen car wash called window tint. He does a great job and he is reletively inexpensive. I have brought all my cars to him. Call information. By the way I have all my windows tinted if that was directed toward me!!

 

alright ill look into that any idea how much they cost for tints ?

 

Look them up in the directory and give them a call. Tell them you have an '04 Maxima and that you wanna know how much for x% tint.

 

I think mine was 180.
