Subs installed....quick question...

Alright so i finally got my subs transferred to the maxima. Its 2 JL audio 12w3's with a kenwood 500 hp mono block amp. I used the converter that cobymoby sells. The sound is great when i'm listening to rock/alternitive but when i listen to harder bass notes in rap/hip hop or even just the radio the back shelf vibrates like crazy.

We were able to fix most of the vibrations in the license plates and also in the spoiler. Since my screws have been missing out of the brake light we super glued the led back to the spoiler.

I'll post pics when i go back to the car later tonight. But just to ask those that have already installed a system how are you dealing with or dealt with the vibrations from the shelf?

It was getting bad so i decided to throw a paper towel between the window and the third brake light for now. The installers suggest dynomating it, i get it cheap so thats an option. Any other suggestions will do?

there's a TSB for the rear deck rattle. some fixed it with CLEAN socks (i think placed under/inside the brake light.

Where did you put your ground for your amp?

I guess you only need to run the power to the battery, with the coverter tapping audio in the rear?

for a good ground for a sub go...

For a good ground for the sub do the following:
1)Go to your back seat
2)lift the seat up a little bit
3)there will be a latch hook there to release the seat so you can remove the seat. One on each side of the car.
4) You will see a few nice bolts there for the seat belts and one in the middle.

I used the seat belt bolt. Works like a charm. Great ground. Thank 04RedOpMax for that suggestion. He told me about it. See I am not a hater.

thanks, i pm'd him and he just told me that. It's all 6th Gen love. Arguments are good, many learn watching some duke it out.

I also needed a ground under my dash/steering column. guess I'll just run another wire back for the same ground.

I used FATMAT paste for my rear lid in my 4th Gen. Mine would rattle really bad but the FATMAT eliminated it. Bought off of Ebay for like $12. I also used dynamat extreme as well on it for added measure. I dynamated the entire trunk and rear license plate.

I have 2 12w3's( ) with a JL 500.1 amp. I was debating whether or not to put them in the car. Can you tell me how the car sounds now with the Bose and the subs? Thanks!

I have 2 10" JL's with a JL 500.1 amp and it sounds really good. Especially having a new HU you can tune the stock Bose speakers much better...as for rattles socks pretty much do the trick...

Wool socks have superior dampening power than cotton socks. I only use wool in my install and its far superior to those with cotton.
