This was posted a while ago, it is a shock senor for the OEM alarm system.
It is strange that our cars would not be equipped with one.

i bought one and sold it b/c dealer wouldn't even consider installing it. I had no idea where to begin. security system is no where in the service manual. they provide tech support, but I was going to wait til after warranty. I just installed a second alarm instead.
