iPod to The Max!

Anyone out there have any recommendations on listening to an iPod through the 6th gen stock stereo system?

I am looking at tape adaptors, wireless FM transmitters and hard wiring it into the head unit. I would rather not "crack open" the console to hook it up, but I am really getting hooked on the iPod.

Any recommendations fellow Maxr's?

I'm using tape adapter with dolby on. it sound fairly good. I tried FM transmitter which sucked in sound quality.
I looked for those hard wiring devices, but you can't use your headunit to control the ipod. and those things are well over 150 bucks. so I think it's worthless. I really want to use the control buttons on the steering wheel to control ipod.

Has anyone see this??

I got this in my Mac mag today - the Dension (www.densionusa.com). It claims to allow you to hook directly into the stock system and allows steering wheel control (radio buttons) of the iPod. Same concept as the BMW / iPod setup.

Sounds cool and just what I was looking for. However on 6th Gen - they are 'out of stock'. I have a feeling it's more like - 'not enough interest yet' for the Max.

Does anyone know of any alternatives?

The PAC AAI-NIS adaptor connects to the SAT input of the Factory BOSE. As long as you don't have SAT you can go this route. That way at least you get quality sound. I added a cup holder mount for mine (see Car Domain page) and although I would like to have the stereo/steering wheel control my IPOD, I'm not there yet...
Bryan at Berk stocks the PAC adaptor:
