Any suggestions on a complete smog legal exhaust for 6th gen maxima? Im I like the Magnaflow mufflers from what I have read. What about headers, y pipe, and the rest that is smog legal in California?

 

The exhaust systems currently available (Stillen, Magnaflow, Greddy) are California street legal. Headers are a definite no and the Y-Pipe maybe.

 

I passed DEQ (emissions testing here in Oregon) with my exhaust (Cattman y-pipe and b-pipe and Magnaflow muffler).

 

So if you replace your exhaust from the manifolds back, including high flow cat, how much horsepower could I expect? 15-20 maybe?

 

Do you have a 6th gen? your profile shows you own a 2k2 in which the Y-pipe leaves the Cat in tact but eliminates the pre cats. On the 04s and 05s a Y pipe eliminates the cat and leaves the pre-cats (so i am told)

 

Does Oregon have the same emissions standards as California?

 

I have an 05 MAx. For Calif, I would really prefer smog legal exhaust.
