ware down the engine

Hi,

do you guys remember what the mile for waring down the engine?

is it the first couple of miles?

I mean a new car

I am not sure what you mean.

If you are referring to the engine "break in" period, per the owner's manual it is 1200 miles. It also states not to exceed 4,000 RPM, drive at varied speeds etc.

I just have no clue what you are asking about.

Someone didn't read the owners manual. Damn kids with new cars! They should get daddy to lend a helping hand and show them where the glove box is.

The post states that he owns a 90 Burgundy Pearl. Perhaps he has recently installed a new block? Should that be the case, a legitimate question would be; what is the WEAR in period and procedure?
