04 or 05 Paint Chips?

04 or 05 Paint Chips?
Just curious.....do the 04's or 05's paint chip easily like the 5.5' gens do? I would like to consider a black one, but I've seem some 5.5's in Blk or Blue and they chip really badly. Just wondering if Nissan has improved their paint at all, in the new generation?

All paints chip when struck by a rock or some other object. I have had my 04 max for 4 months and 6,000 miles and I do not have one chip.
I drive on the highway a lot, but when a rock hauler is in front of me, I pass him with great velocity to avoud chips.
I can tell you my max has NO problems with the paint (neither does my wife's Murano)..

DougJones (and all), thanks for the feedback. Will store this in the back of my mind if/when I decide to make the switch to the newer Max. DougJones....how do you like the 04 vs the 02? I am still mixed, as I've read a lot of "issues" with the new ones. It's making me really think about whether I want to even consider the switch. I have test drove a couple nad they are pretty nice. I don't really drive mine that hard, and it has been flawless so far. One of the test drivers actually had the shimmy, so I know I wouldn't buy that particular one. In fact, when I look at the dealers inventory, that one is still on the lot, and it's been about 2 months since I test drove it.

I say make the switch. I have absolutely no regrets in stepping up to the '04. It's a much nicer vehicle as far as ride quality, features, and look/feel, IMHO. The only issue that I have had thus far is the glovebox alignment was off. It was fixed under warranty (TSB is out for this). Other than that, and a blown headlight bulb, I'm problem free.
