Skyview recall

I was wondering if all the eligible 2004 Maxima ownersfor the skyview recall have in fact got it replaced. I am debating whether or not to have mind replaced. I am concern they do a poor job replacing it, scratching my car or having a leak in the replaced skyview. Any thoughts on thisÉ

I have heard of all of those things happening, but my replacement was smooth. No scratches, no leaks...It just depends who does it, I guess a lot of dealers contract an outside glass company to do the job, as did my dealer.

If your car is part of the recall, I suggest that you get it fixed. I know someone who's glass shattered on his family.

Automon: They occasionally shatter/explode. Due to a defect in the glass.

Be very careful about checking this over. My Max is a garage dweller (Only comes out on good days). I had my Skyview replaced due to recall. I specifically asked if the unit was leak tested, answer no. I decided to let it sit out, it rains all night get in it in the morning soaking wet!!! I called dealer on Mon. said bring it down. I threw the keys at him said keep it till you are sure it doesn't leak. A WEEK LATER, I get my car back. It has not rained hard yet for me to test, and I do not like carwashes, so hI hope it doesn't leak. Just a warning.
