POLISHING TO REMOVE SPOTS & SWIRLS
If your water spots or swirl marks are severe, I recommend using a product like Einszett Ultra Paint Polish or 3M Perfect-It Fine Cut Rubbing Compound. Follow the application of a fine rubbing compound with a good polish, such as Einszett Paint Polish or Einszett Metallic PolishWax. Use a good foam applicator pad to apply compounds and polishes. Use the rubbing compounds by hand only. Compounding with a machine is not a good idea because it removes paint too quickly to control.

Try mothers cleaner wax. It has a very mild abrasive and waxes at the same time.

Mother's also has their brand of the higlighter. Can't remember the exact name at the moment but that stuff takes off bird stains as well as water stains. Just let it sit for a minute or so and then wipe with one side and polish up with the other. Good luck

Step 1: Wash
Step 2: Clay
Step 3: Wash again
Step 4: Use a paint cleaner
Step 5: Polish
Step 6: Wax

This way your car would look awesome and no signs of waterspots.

You can also try to find more info at http://www.meguiarsonline.com/

Here in Arizona water spots are horrible from the tap water. Vinegar is the
answer. White vinegar does not smell as strong. Just wipe on, and hose off.
Works like a charm.

The vinegar trick worked great! I do have some traces of water spots left, but it's much better. I'll get the rest next time.
